Course 15th - 17th October
This is a
programme that gives both new
and experienced trainers hands-on practice in using the skills
needed to deliver effective training sessions to
groups.
The programme is
designed to be delivered in a minimum of 18
hours,
typically over 3 or 4
days, with feedback to the students as a key
part of the programme. The core of the programme is
trainer input and student practice, but most of the
final day is taken up with assessment. At the
end of the programme successful students are awarded the CIEH
Professional Trainer Certificate.
A pack is avalable
from the CIEH to provide one way of presenting the material. The
programme material can be adapted to the individual trainer's
preferred style and
there are suggestions
throughout for different ways of using the
material.
Target
audience
The programme will be
beneficial for both experienced trainers and
those
who are new to
delivering training sessions to groups of individuals. It
is
not about content, i.e.
learning to deliver a Basic Food Hygiene programme. It is about
teaching training skills, which the trainer can then adapt to
different subjects. It is important for anyone who delivers this
programme to emphasise to the students that the training being
offered is about" process and not
content".
The programme is not limited to existing or future
CIEH trainers, but it is
the basic trainer
qualification for anyone who wants to go on to train
with
CIEH products. There are
specific suggestions to help ClEH trainers
and
some supplementary
exercises for generic trainers.
Anyone who wants to
update their skills or review and practise
training
skills prior to
delivering training in their own organisation would
also
benefit from the
programme.
